June’s Letter from The Curator (2022)

Dear Friends

On Sunday 26th June we are holding what promises to be a wonderful Tudor Day. This has come about because there is so much interest in the Tudors and parents are often asking me if their children will have a chance to meet Tutbury Castle’s own Queen Elizabeth I.

So I have got together a collection of gifted historical interpreters, a group of fully costumed Elizabethan dancers will be there along with some Henry VII style Tudor musicians to get the children dancing.

Meanwhile, upstairs in the Great Hall Queen Elizabeth I will be waiting to great you, accompanied by the great love of her life, Robert Dudley.

We have decided not to charge extra for this event so whole families can enjoy it at the normal entrance fee (£4.50, £4.00 for concessions, children under 5 are free).

The gardens are looking particularly beautiful with abundant roses and so do take advantage of this colourful event in the heart of England at Tutbury Castle.

Don’t we love our Tudors  ♥

Warmest regards,

Lesley
